Principal Dr. Shrinivas Krishnaji Wadgabalkar
Dr. Shrinivas Krishnaji Wadgabalkar currently heads the Geology department at the D.B.F Dayanand College of Arts and Science, Solapur. Known for his expertise in Environment Science and Groundwater Resources, he has been teaching and researching on related topics for the last 36 years. With research papers on varied topics such as the Collection and Utilization of Groundwater Resources, Water Pollution & Geology published in many National and International journals, Dr. Wadgablkar has also contributed to the Kumar Vishwakosh and Vasundhara Gyankosh though his articles.
Sunil Joshi hails from Halgude, Barshi. Severe drought conditions forced him to leave his village during childhood, and settle in Solapur. Since then, he has been working tirelessly on issues related to water that has afflicted the people of Maharashtra. During 1990-1999, he worked as a Sub-editor with Sakal newspaper in Pune and Solapur. His outlook towards life changed when he read the biography Johad – by the ‘waterman of India’ Rajendra Singhji. Inspired by the book in 2003, he started spreading awareness about water conservation under the banner of Jalabiradari.
Sanjay Tanaji Bhoite
Sanjay Tanaji Bhoite has held several responsible posts such as Deputy Conservator, Assistant Conservator of Forests and Deputy Director (Forests) over the last 19 years in the Ministry of Environment and Forests. From 2003 to date, he has collected feathers of 54 different species of birds. Detailed information regarding 15 of these birds is exhibited at the Information Center in Siddheshwar forest for the benefit of students and other visitors. His impressive collection of seeds of different plants and a Herbarium of medicinal plants and grasses is also on display there.
