He left his lucrative job and shifted to “organic farming” and started to harvest sustainable crop. Over the period of four decades, he mastered the technique of organic farming and inspiring thousands of farmers across the country. Today he has 12 thousand trees, he encouraged different farmers to grow more than 50 thousand trees in their farms. Thousands of students, NGOs, youths, farmer organization visit his farm regularly. He has received many national and international awards also.
B. P. Duddagi
As RFO in Hadagali he carried out plantation and converted 8000 hectares of degraded land into lush green forest. Now in this forest a wide range of wildlife is flourishing. He stopped stone quarries, wood cutting, excessive grazing, prevented forest fires, hunting and entry of people into the core zone, thus, made the entire sanctuary area peaceful for the bears and other wildlife.
Hasiru Dala is a membership based non-profit origination of waste pickers. It strives to integrate marginalized waste pickers into the solid waste management framework by utilizing their expertise in the domain. Initiated in November 2013, Hasiru Dala now has a membership of over 7500 waste pickers and focuses on enabling access to social security benefits to improve their quality of life.
