Abhay Devidas Bhandari
Abhay Bhandari from Vita has contributed to the cause of environment in many ways. He has set the objective of indigenizing the Agro, Finance, Health, Education and Law & Order Systems and accordingly tours Satara, Sangli, Kolhapur, Pune and Belgaon districts. Since 2001, he has been presenting lectures on importance of Neem Tree Re-farming, Human Health, Environment and Economy.
Babasaheb Lalasaheb Patil
Ajitkumar alias Babasaheb Lalasaheb Patil has successfully combined social service and farming activities. His farm is at Ghogaon, Palus tehsil (Sangli district), where he reaps grapes, sugarcane, bananas, soyabean, chillies, beans, tur, rice and much more on 26 hectares of land, using modern technologies. In 1995, he completed a course on Water Management through the Water & Land Institute at Aurangabad. He has monetarily helped and guided many farmers for farming and setting up allied agro-industries.
Iqbal Ahmed J Sattar
Mr. Sattar is from Junedia Education Society, Kudchi, Belgaon (511311). He is a Science Graduate from A.F.I.C. Philippines. He has also been trained in Southern Forest Region University in Coimbatore. He strived to make people of various towns in Sangli district aware of environmental issues by tree exhibition and plantation drives.
His contribution,along with that of the ‘Friend of Trees’ by late Mr. D. M. Mohite, was of great value in the creation of Sagareshwar reserved forest. Currently he is busy in spreading eco-awareness in various schools of Maharashtra, Karnatak, Goa and Gujarat, including Junedia Education Society at Kudchi.
